Euripides was an Athenian Poet and Playwright famous for his tragedies. He was born about 485 BC. and died in about 406 BC. He wrote around a total of 90 plays but only 19 have survived till today such as Medea, The Bacchae, Hippolytus, Alcestis, and The Trojan Women. He first entered in one of the theater events held for the god Dionysus in 455 BC and he won his first out of 4 festivals in 441 BC. He was friends with many philosophers such as Socrates, Protagoras and Anaxagoras. In 408 BC he left his home in Athens and went to live in Macedonia so he could do more writing. He has made so many brilliant plays that you might even get to see adaptations of them today.
