GEOGRAPHY
Athens is the capitol of Greece and it is also the largest city in Greece, it has a population of about 3.5 million. Athens is on a peninsula that is surrounded by mountains. Athens has a typical Mediterranean climate which has hot and dry summers with mild winters. Athens snows about 4-5 times a year and it has some
rain during the fall.
The mountains Athens is surrounded by is the Aegaleo to the west, Parnes to the north, Pentelikon to the northeast, the Hymettus to the east, Penteli to the northeast, and the Saronic Gulf to the southwest.
Athens covers over 2928 km of land, and across the central plain of Attica the city has a lot of gorges, caves, springs, and paths. The tallest peaks is Mount Parnitha, which is around 4767 feet tall and is Athens national park.
