inventors
Daedalus:
Otherwise known as Daidalos, comes from the word "daedalo" that means "to work cunningly. According to mytholedgy he has apparently created the
Labyrinth in Minoan Crete, Ariadne's clue, Pasiphae's wooden cow, Ariadne's dancing-floor, the prow of contemporary ships, and flying with wings of wax and feathers, making him "the best inventor of ancient Greece". Many myths say that he was born in Athens (by my standards, making him Athenian). He is most popularly said to be the descendants of Erectheus, who is the king of Athens and the founder of the Panathenian games, and Alicippe/Phrasmide/Iphinoe, who is the descendant of Cecrops (the mythical founder of Athens). He is also rumored to be a descendant of Hephaestus (god of fire and crafts)
which might be why he is so good at making things.
He's said to be "the greatest architect and sculptor of Athens" because how real his statues looked with their movable limbs and intricate eye detailing.
They looked so real that once Hercules saw one (of him slef for a matter of fact) and he thought it was atacking him so he crushed it with his club, then
realizing that it actually was just a statue he apologized to it's creator.
Daedalus is said to have eventually ended up in crete because there was a rumor that his sister's (Perdicas/Polycastes) son Talos/Calos would become
more talented than his uncle causing Daedalus to become so jelous that he "threw him off the Acropolis". When people found out they bannished him
from the city in turn making his sister kill herself out of all the sadness. Crete welcomed him and he met Minos ( who is the mythical King of Knossos) who
put him in charge of all the techical things in the palace, and started the myth that he invented almost every "technological innovation" that happened at
the time.
